Analysis

Seven competency-titled units — environment, social etiquette, crisis awareness, empathy with special people, historical and cultural places, media, and Rafia's Wedding — again on the fixed six-part unit spine ending in a Fun section. A1 2: zero religious selections, and the one substantial religion passage is pluralist heritage, Bhambore's "Shiva temple from the Hindu period; and a mosque, with 727 AD written on it" in Unit 5. A2 4 is duty-civics only — "What is our responsibility as citizens towards bringing a good change?" and a pollution unit split into the role of government and the role of citizens, with no rights, institutions or franchise anywhere. A5 1: the national slot is Indus Valley heritage. A7 4 turns on Unit 7, the only woman-titled unit in the book, in which Rafia is the occasion rather than the actor. Distinctive feature: Unit 4, Awareness of and Empathy with Special People, is the only dedicated disability unit in any of the twelve readers examined. Native digital text without page markers, so citations are printed folios.

Measured scores

A1 Religious saturation 2
A2 Civic thickness 4

Evidence recorded 4

Three kinds, deliberately styled apart. A quotation is verbatim wording and is only ever taken from English-medium text. An observation describes structure or theme — the only kind permitted for Urdu and Sindhi material, which this project never quotes. An absence is a negative result: a probe was run and returned nothing, which is the weakest claim made anywhere on this site.

absence religion lens A1 = 2 native text #e01

Zero religious selections. The one substantial religion passage is pluralist heritage — "before the arrival of Islam, followers of some of the great religions of the world lived and thrived here"; Bhambore has "a Shiva temple from the Hindu period; and a mosque, with 727 AD written on it" (Unit 5).

A negative result. It records that a probe was run and found nothing — not that the thing is not in the book. Where this rests on Urdu material the correct reading is not established, never absent, because degraded Nastaliq OCR cannot tell those apart.

quotation civics lens A2 = 4 native text #e02

Duty-civics only: "What is our responsibility as citizens towards bringing a good change?" and a pollution unit splitting "role of government; role of citizens". No rights, no institutions, no franchise · english-7-en

Unit 5 Pakistan home to ancient civilization — Indus Valley heritage

Served here unmodified, without charge and without advertising, to preserve public access to material its publisher distributes free — source links rot and editions are withdrawn, and several in this catalogue already have. This is an archival mirror, not a licence granted by the Board. The Board may have it removed at any time, for any reason, and the removal will be recorded publicly. The checksum is of the exact file these findings were computed from, so anyone can prove they hold the same bytes. The retrieval date is when this copy was fetched to the project's own disk, not a formal web-archive capture. Boards and mirrors reprint and reorganise continuously, so a source link may not resolve, and may not serve the same edition if it does. The bibliographic record above — board, class, subject, medium, curriculum, edition, approval reference and page count — is what identifies the book; the link is a convenience. This project does not republish the PDF itself, for the copyright reasons set out in about.

Identifiers and permanent link

Record IDstbb-english-7-en
Permanent link/books/stbb-english-7-en/
This record as data/books/stbb-english-7-en.json · whole dataset

The record ID is an accession number that happens to be readable. It never changes, even if the metadata encoded in it turns out to be wrong — if this book's board, class, subject or medium is corrected, the correction appears in the fields above and the ID stays as it is. That is the only way a link made today still resolves in ten years. The full rule is in the standards.

Sindh Textbook Board, Jamshoro, My English VII (2020-21), portal-listed. Catalogued by the Textbook Evidence Project as stbb-english-7-en, corpus version 210 records. Retrieved from /books/stbb-english-7-en/

If you are quoting a passage from the book rather than citing this record, cite the book — the bibliographic details above are what identifies it — and say that you found it here. Two citations, not one.

Challenge this record

If the edition is misidentified, a score does not survive its evidence, the source link is wrong, or a passage is unfairly characterised, that is worth reporting and will be acted on whether or not the correction suits the argument. Corrections are published in the corrections log, never quietly patched. This applies fully to the board that publishes this book: any reply will appear beside the finding it concerns, under the right of reply.
