Islamiyat, class 9
2 boards, 2 books. These books are not of the same curriculum generation — see the vintage note below.
Vintage warning. This cell compares National Curriculum 2022-23 against SNC 2022. A difference here may reflect the decade the book was written in rather than provincial policy. The defensible reading is "what each board is currently printing", not "what each province believes".

What the difference amounts to
Only two boards in this cell, and they are not comparable in the way the other cells are. Punjab's Islamiyat 9 is a 170-page 2022–23 volume and is the most technical religious book in the corpus: it teaches the tadween of the Quran and the codification of hadith at PDF pp. 5–8, material that is ordinarily post-secondary. Balochistan's is a 94-page National Curriculum 2022-23 pilot edition and is not yet scored, so no comparison of register is possible here — that gap is real and is recorded on the coverage page rather than filled with an estimate. What can be said concerns Punjab alone, and it cuts both ways. Its jihad lesson at PDF pp. 113–116 teaches a deliberately narrow doctrine: pupils must distinguish jihad fi sabilillah from fasad fil-ard, glossed as terrorism, explicitly in the light of the 2018 Paigham-e-Pakistan declaration. That is a state counter-terrorism framing written into a school syllabus. On the same printed page the end-of-unit activity directs pupils to record the names and deeds of Nishan-e-Haider recipients in their diaries — the lesson argues restraint and the homework rehearses valour. Against that, this is also the only Islamiyat volume in the corpus that does not drop women after the early chapters: it carries a dedicated Sahabiyat section and a seerah lesson on the Prophet's treatment of women, and scores 4 on gender where its companions score 5. Both books are Urdu-medium and were read at theme grade; the jihad lesson was additionally verified by rendering the printed page as an image and reading it directly.
