Analysis

One of the four KP books actually rebuilt on the 2022 curriculum, approved by DCTE KP in July 2022 and copyrighted to the National Book Foundation in Islamabad rather than authored provincially. Its most striking feature for a provincial board's text is that it has no KP-specific section anywhere: the province appears only as points on national lists, Peshawar as an industrial centre, Torkham, the Khyber Pass, the Karakoram corridor. Two of its six chapters are climate and environment, and development is taught through indicators rather than ideology, with HDI credited to Mahbub ul Haq and an explicit Norway-versus-Pakistan comparison table. That secular, technical content is why A1 is 1. A2 5 and A7 5 are Urdu-OCR absence claims on a short book and should be read as not established. The 49-page figure in the metadata is a two-up spread scan, not the printed extent, so page-count comparisons against other volumes will mislead.

Evidence tier

scanned   Urdu/Sindhi OCR — theme-grade only. Structure and proper nouns, never wording. Nothing in this book is quoted anywhere in the study.

Published by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Textbook Board, Peshawar, which holds copyright in it. Served here unmodified, without charge and without advertising, to preserve public access to material its publisher distributes free — source links rot and editions are withdrawn, and several in this catalogue already have. This is an archival mirror, not a licence granted by the Board. The Board may have it removed at any time, for any reason, and the removal will be recorded publicly. Verify your copy against the SHA-256 below.

SourceNot recorded for this record. The file is held locally and its bibliographic details are above, but the retrieval URL was not captured — a gap, and it is shown rather than hidden.

The checksum is of the exact file these findings were computed from, so anyone can prove they hold the same bytes. The retrieval date is when this copy was fetched to the project's own disk, not a formal web-archive capture. Boards and mirrors reprint and reorganise continuously, so a source link may not resolve, and may not serve the same edition if it does. The bibliographic record above — board, class, subject, medium, curriculum, edition, approval reference and page count — is what identifies the book; the link is a convenience. This project does not republish the PDF itself, for the copyright reasons set out in about.

Identifiers and permanent link

Record IDkptbb-geography-8-ur
Permanent link/books/kptbb-geography-8-ur/
This record as data/books/kptbb-geography-8-ur.json · whole dataset

The record ID is an accession number that happens to be readable. It never changes, even if the metadata encoded in it turns out to be wrong — if this book's board, class, subject or medium is corrected, the correction appears in the fields above and the ID stays as it is. That is the only way a link made today still resolves in ten years. The full rule is in the standards.

If you are quoting a passage from the book rather than citing this record, cite the book — the bibliographic details above are what identifies it — and say that you found it here. Two citations, not one.

Challenge this record

If the edition is misidentified, a score does not survive its evidence, the source link is wrong, or a passage is unfairly characterised, that is worth reporting and will be acted on whether or not the correction suits the argument. Corrections are published in the corrections log, never quietly patched. This applies fully to the board that publishes this book: any reply will appear beside the finding it concerns, under the right of reply.
