Analysis

Six chapters running Plains and Rivers, Water Sources and Management, Settlements and Land Use, Agriculture, Climate Change and Minerals and Power - about sixty per cent human and economic geography, and unusually well supplied with real statistics: agriculture at 22.7 per cent of GDP and 37.4 per cent of the labour force (p.51), 83 per cent of cultivable area canal-dependent (p.50), the 2017 census at 63 per cent rural (p.43), plus Reko Diq, Thar, Sui and Khewra. The climate chapter is current on impacts (2022 floods, 2021 heat wave, p.69) but dated on diplomacy: Copenhagen 2009 is the only international action named, with no Paris Agreement and no COP series. A1 1 and A5 1 - no religious or martial content. A2 5: the only "Constitution" hits are the AJK map disclaimer, and "a local government" appears once inside a definition of "town" and is never explained. A7 5 on absence, with zero female-marked tokens in 16,094 words. Watermark damage is heavier here than in the History volume and the printed titles of chapters 2 and 4 are unrecoverable - check those against a printed copy.

Served here unmodified, without charge and without advertising, to preserve public access to material its publisher distributes free — source links rot and editions are withdrawn, and several in this catalogue already have. This is an archival mirror, not a licence granted by the Board. The Board may have it removed at any time, for any reason, and the removal will be recorded publicly. The checksum is of the exact file these findings were computed from, so anyone can prove they hold the same bytes. The retrieval date is when this copy was fetched to the project's own disk, not a formal web-archive capture. Boards and mirrors reprint and reorganise continuously, so a source link may not resolve, and may not serve the same edition if it does. The bibliographic record above — board, class, subject, medium, curriculum, edition, approval reference and page count — is what identifies the book; the link is a convenience. This project does not republish the PDF itself, for the copyright reasons set out in about.

Identifiers and permanent link

Record IDpctb-geography-7-en
Permanent link/books/pctb-geography-7-en/
This record as data/books/pctb-geography-7-en.json · whole dataset

The record ID is an accession number that happens to be readable. It never changes, even if the metadata encoded in it turns out to be wrong — if this book's board, class, subject or medium is corrected, the correction appears in the fields above and the ID stays as it is. That is the only way a link made today still resolves in ten years. The full rule is in the standards.

If you are quoting a passage from the book rather than citing this record, cite the book — the bibliographic details above are what identifies it — and say that you found it here. Two citations, not one.

Challenge this record

If the edition is misidentified, a score does not survive its evidence, the source link is wrong, or a passage is unfairly characterised, that is worth reporting and will be acted on whether or not the correction suits the argument. Corrections are published in the corrections log, never quietly patched. This applies fully to the board that publishes this book: any reply will appear beside the finding it concerns, under the right of reply.
